24 hours until I'll be at Columbus State

Only 24 hours left before the workshop! How To Say Goodbye - Michael W. Smith. I've listened to this song like a million times preparing for turn-in. It's just amazing how close I am to be done with raising my first puppy! I will be turning in Dembre at 5 or 6 tomorrow. Please pray that all goes well.

  6. If I can depart one piece of advice it is that turning in a pup is hard. But it's fun. It's like finishing a portrait. You painted something beautiful and now you just gotta be proud as you hang it in the museum. There's no reason to be sad. These dogs have such amazing things to do, I take the perspective of feeling joyful instead of sad. I understand being sad as you turn them in, but don't let it ruin that amazing day. It is a celebration. You are done with your project and now you gotta show it off. So tomorrow when you turn in, don't let sadness impact the celebration. So take off that cape, collar, leash, and gentle leader with pride, tell him to "kennel" and then stand amazed at the amazing feat you accomplished. So be thoughtful, but not sad. We puppy raisers are blessed to get someone else's amazing dog for a year and now we finally get to give them exactly what they have been waiting for....Independence. I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday. :)
