Snapshot from a happy life

In church!!!
This makes me so happy!!!! Dembre is where he belongs! Imelda is happy, Dembre is happy! I've been hearing about their work together and I know that it is the best possible match. Dembre is an awesome pup and Imelda is an awesome person and they've become fast friends! My work isn't done yet, but mission one has been completed 110%!!! I'm so blessed to see snapshots from my (her) puppy's life!

Spring is here and Hobart and Pepin are enjoying the cold hard wood floors after playing outside in beautiful 80 degree weather! Hobart is loving this weather!!!!

Dembre/ Hobart II update

I've been talking to Imelda recently and she just sent me a picture of Dembre! He's adjusting to his new life quite well and I think he's 10X happier with Imelda than he was with me, which makes me very happy!

Hobart is also doing well! We had a debate tournament over the weekend so he was out in public for his third full weekend in the last month, which is a lot. He did super well, though and I am very proud of him! Hopefully I  will get some pics up of him soon :)

Dembre's first month AT!

Dembre has made it his first month in AT! That's good, because many dogs are released in the first month, but he's only half way through prime release time! We still have to wait another five months to see if he graduates or not! I really have just prayed that no matter where he goes or how he does that it's God's will! I obviously want him to pass with flying colors, but I can only hope. No matter what I do I can't MAKE him become a service dog! And if Dembre passes, I won't feel betrayed if Hobart doesn't. It's a big mix. It's about the dogs personality, the puppy raiser and how he/she addresses the puppy's problems and their strong points to shape a good pup! Sometimes the dog won't pass no matter what you do. And sometimes they will no matter what you do!

Dembre's First AT Report

We got our first official report from Dembre's trainer, Adrena, today. She said that he is doing fine. I mentioned a little while ago that Dembre barked at a stuffed lion. They tested him on leash with different "novel" stuffed items. She said that he was reluctant, but did not vocalize or and overcame his uncertainty! I'll hope he continues to do well! She said that he is not extremely responsive when it comes to voice corrections, but that listens extremely well with a leash correction. I can only hope and pray that he does fine for the rest! Let's hope that I don't get the release call!!!!!

Last summer Dembre didn't even fit in his puppy cape. Now he is in AT with the hope of becoming a service dog!!!!
Our program manager said that we would never get a report that we liked, so I was thrilled that Dembre is still in AT and that he doesn't seem to be on the verge of release!

Introducing HOBART!!!!!

Introducing Hobart (I think he's Hobart II). He's cute, he's sweet, he has puppy breath, a green ear, and there's nothing not to love!!!!! I absolutely ADORE him! I met my friend who was picking up his sister, Hoya. We got some pics and I have some other exciting news that I will write below the Adorable puppy pics!

And now the news! I talked to Adrena Dembre's trainer and got an update! She said that he's adjusting fine! She did temperament test this morning and he did pretty well. He was off leash in a training room and she clapped her hands to see what he would do and he came bounding over and got really excited (Dembre style). She said she thinks they can shape that energy in to a good thing and wasn't concerned. The only thing she had a concern about was that they put a huge stuffed lion in the room and he growled and then barked at it. But they won't release him unless he does it repeatedly on leash (he was off leash.) I felt like that was pretty good! She let us see him and he was very happy to see us!

Can't wait to post more adventures with HOBART!!!!!
